Letter From The President, December 2017

To all FPV Tickford Club of NSW Members.

Dear All,
We are now in December, no doubt the happiest, and most hectic month of the year.
I usually start with some comment on the Supercar racing, but after the Newcastle
result it’s too hard to bring myself to make one. So close and under so much
controversy, I’m sure the Ford teams are waiting for 2018 season to show what can
be done.
November was a busy month for events again.
McCredie’s was a little quiet by normal standards but still a good night. For
December it will be on Tuesday December 5, last for the year so don’t miss it.
Paceway Cars and Coffee was strong as usual, and is on December 10, a critical date
I will speak of more soon.
The weekend of November 4-6 was our representation at the Mid North Coast All
Ford Day. We had a great attendance at this event, and all in all was a sensational
weekend. Travelling up was a challenge with some torrential rain on the way, but we
all arrived safely. Club members walked away with two awards on the day, Tracey
Mahon for best sedan and Darren Wright for the entrant who had travelled longest to
be there.
Also on November 12 was a combined Ford and Holden charity drive to Bathurst. Any
drive to Bathurst is a good one, but this one was excellent, again around 12 cars
representing our Club.
Finally, on November 25 was a Talotta’s Pizza mini cruise and dinner. Always a great
night, especially when our webmaster Grant Booth sets all of the cars up for a photo
session by the water. Check out the photos on the site and on Facebook..
There are a number of events for December as well. Sunday December 10 will be the
annual Club Show and Shine and Christmas party at Springwood Country Club.
Details to follow but you will have the option to go straight to the Club for lunch and
judging or join us for Paceway Cars and Coffee and then leave from there.
Also on Sunday December 17 will be the annual President’s Light Show at my home.
Again, details to follow.
So apart from the website, don’t forget to keep an eye out for Club emails, as well as
an watch the Facebook page for any event notifications and updates. On the Facebook
page you will also see loads of photos of the events mentioned above.
You will now also receive an email and photo of our member of the month. This month
it’s old-timer (he will hate me for that!), Tracey Mahon. Here’s your chance to get to
know more about him !
For those who we won’t see at one of the December events, all the best for a great
Christmas and happy and safe motoring,

Kind regards,
John Barbaro
