A quick rundown on things for May. In general club news, our club website has been moved back to its original
servers/hosts, you won’t even be able to tell any difference but this has been done in the background and was
done to make it more stable and hopefully we shouldn’t have any more problems with it going offline etc..
Since the last letter there have been a few major events, the clubs annual weekend away in Sussex Inlet for the
Charity car show and the involvement in the Charity Cruise to Bathurst with Craig Elson and the Performance
Ford Group of NSW.
Both events having big numbers of members/cars attending, and once again turned out to be great events. Steve
will do a small write up for the Sussex Inlet trip next letter and Craig has written a small piece below in regards to
the Charity Bathurst Cruise.
There was also a cruise to Talottas pizza back in April, only a small cruise but all those that attended had a great
Sydney car and coffee and also Harry’s end of month car show were both also great events as usual with a few
members attending and making the most of these car shows.
The date for the club Annual general meeting has also been announced and will be held on Tuesday the 5th June
As usual it will be held in the function room of the Crown on McCredie Hotel, Guildford at 8pm.
Everyone should have received an email from Steve Lamb regarding this and more information, including the
nomination forms. All nomination forms do need to be received by Steve before midnight on 22nd May 2018.
Please read the email for more information and contact steve ASAP if needed.
Hope to see everyone at the AGM, we really need good numbers there to have it all work properly and its
everyone’s chance to get involved and have some say in the club.
Just a reminder that we still have merchandise available, Jackets, Shirts & Hats. As well as our new club
umbrellas that Jackie had down at Sussex Inlet. These are now for sale for $45 and could be very useful over the
next few months.
We are always looking to add items to our merchandise, so feel free to suggest anything you think may be of
interest to the club. I think the next item that is being looked into currently are club beanies as suggested by
some members at the Sussex weekend.
We do have a limited supply in stock (with samples to get sizing correct) and orders are able to be taken at any
Please contact Jackie for more information or if you would like any merchandise.
Ford Performance Group Charity Cruise by Craig Elson
“On the 6th of May a number of FPV-TCNSW Members supported the FPG Leukaemia Foundation Charity
Cruise 2018 Fundraiser from Bunnings Blacktown to Mt Panorama Bathurst. The event was a great success with
101 cars registering for the cruise. Through Event Registration, Raffles and donations the event raised over 5K
on the day for the Leukaemia Foundation.
In addition to attending the Event, FPV-TCNSW supported the Event by, providing the use of Club equiptment,
e.g Trailer, Marquees etc.
Members assisted with equiptment transport, running of the Sausage Sizzle preperation, cooking and sales.
In addition a few Members had personally sponsored the event. (Grant Booth, John Vella, Sam Giancotti, John
Dickinson & George Boroutsos)
FPG-LFCC Event Orginiser and FPV-TCNSW Acting VP Craig Elson would like to thank all Club Members who
attended or donated in support of the event and would like to extend a special “Thank you” to John Barbaro,
Mario Attard & Richard Refalo who went out of their way to head up to Bathurst early with the Club Trailer towed
by John to setup the Marquees and equiptment in readiness for everyone arriving.
With only 2 weekends left in May, events probably move into June now. The committee is getting together this
weekend for a scheduled meeting to sort events and club issues, if anyone has anything they would like to be
added to the discussions, please contact me before the weekend.
Muscle car masters is on again at Eastern Creek, this year it’s the Queens Birthday long weekend (9th and 10th
june), last year we displayed there and it was an awesome event, we can possibly have another display there,
but will have to get numbers very quickly. I will get an event sheet out, but if anyone is interested could they
please SMS me as soon as possible and we can get an idea if we have enough interest to quickly get a group
together for the event.
A couple more monthly events that many members attend, and while not official club events these are great to
get out to and enjoy.
– Harrys café de wheels end of month meet (changed for this month only to Saturday 19th) – this show is
back on now after a long break and is a great night out at Harrys Liverpool with heaps of cars on show
and some great prizes.
– FPV GT community facebook page has their next cruise on Saturday June 2nd (not a club event but
quite a few members have attended these events and said they have been very good runs) worth
having a look if anyone is keen to get out for a cruise. (refer to their facebook page for details)
