Letter from The President, August 2017

To all FPV Tickford Club of NSW Members.

Dear All,

A lot to cover this month so I’ll get straight to it.

But first the gloating, and only because so many of you enjoy the Supercars ! Another

Ford domination last weekend in Ipswich, and no reason for it to stop. A great season for

us for sure.

Summarising July, firstly there was a combined Ford and Holden cruise to Shellharbour.

A good number attended this and from what I hear, was a good day. There were also

some great photos taken by our special ‘in house’ photographer! Check them out on the

Facebook page.

There was also a cruise from Paceway and Cars at Penrith to Kembla Grange where we

went to the Australian Motorlife Museum. Around 20 cars attended this interesting venue,

followed by fish and chips on the water. Another successful Club events.

Also for July was one of our highlight events, All Ford Day. And what a great day it was in

every way. Apart from a stunning July day, we had around 50 cars on show, and as

always, our display was sensational. Thanks to Ben Schibeci, Derek Kitching and all of the

contributing Club members who made it the success that it was. There were far too many

to mention, and I fear leaving someone out, but it was all very much appreciated. The help

extended to organising the day, sending cars in, setting cars up, setting up displays,

organising, preparing and serving the food, collecting money and packing up. You know

who you all are and my most sincere thanks to you all.

Also on the day awards were won by Nick Attard and Gerry Maroulis for best in Club

display, but also Eric Maastricht for taking first prize in Concourse/Preservation class

with his beautiful R-Spec. Well done to all.

At All Ford Day, we also started to hand out the complimentary Club caps as part of your

2017/2018 membership. Thanks to Jackie Fredericks for sourcing the caps and Heather

Mahon for the allocations. Each member walked away with one, and they are still

available to any 2017/2018 members as part of their membership. We will make sure we

take a stock of these to some future events so if you haven’t got your’s yet, make sure you

redeem it soon. We will also have some available for sale if you want any extras.

Let’s bring in August. The social night at McCredies will be on tonight, August 1. I

appreciate it’s only two days after many of you attended All Ford Day, but this is always a

good social night.

Paceway and Cars for August will be on Sunday August 13, and as always, a great way to

spend a Sunday morning.

Also in August is our Club display at Sydney Motorsport Park supporting the Supercar

round on the weekend of August 19 & 20. Numbers so far are good, but if you still intend

to attend, please contact Ben S as soon as possible so you don’t miss out.
